Step-by-Step Visa Process
- 1. Receive Form I-20 from your admitted SEVP-approved university.
- 2. Pay the SEVIS I-901 fee of $350 online at fmjfee.com.
- 3. Complete the DS-160 Online Non-immigrant Visa Application.
- 4. Create an account on usvisascheduling.com and pay the $185 MRV fee.
- 5. Schedule and attend your Biometrics (VAC) and Consular Interview in India.
- 6. Upon approval, your passport is returned with the F-1 visa stamp.
Work Rights after Graduation
Optional Practical Training (OPT) offers 12 months of post-study work rights. STEM graduates receive an additional 24-month extension, totaling 36 months (3 years) of OPT work authorization.
